How I Work With People
I have a roll-up-my sleeves approach to our work together. In therapy with me, you should feel as if I am sitting next to you, rather than across from you. I believe you are the expert on your own life. I see my role as the guest in the house of your experience and a partner in your problem solving. Together my hope is that we restore your resilience and expand your house to include new experiences, ideas, and self-awareness.
Curiosity, Creativity, & Connection
We are most likely to operate at our best – whether in work, relationships, or daily life – when we are relaxed, focused, and feel connected to others and our resources. In our work together, I will do my best to model and encourage Curiosity, Creativity, and Connection – postures and states that I believe are most helpful in generating new solutions and promoting meaningful change. While I have ideas and mind/body approaches to help you develop these stances, I also leave room for this to unfold in ways we don’t expect.
“Creative outcomes are only as good as the underlying states.” – Stephen Gilligan, PhD
My Background
I enjoy working with individuals and couples in private practice to restore the quality in their lives and relationships. I have also worked in substance abuse and mental health outpatient treatment programs at Northwest Counseling & Wellness Center (NCWC), and I share NCWC’s holistic approach to wellness in my collaboration with clients.
I have had diverse career and life experiences in and around corporate, nonprofit, academic, and international settings. Though I spent many years in a corporate career, the common thread in my successfully working with individuals, groups, and organizations has been my interest in human relationships – and my intentional emphasis on the “how” in addition to the “what” in meeting challenges.
I also hold a Texas CPA and Licensed Massage Therapist license – all a product of life-long learning that cross-pollinates ideas to draw upon in my approach to clients.

A Word About Diversity
I encourage you to be authentic. Regardless of background, sexual orientation, or lifestyle, you can expect us to work together in a supportive, accepting space. I maintain a healthy and helpful curiosity that I hope expands our understanding not only of your unique challenges, but also of your innate capacity to heal and grow.
I also have a special interest in supporting spiritually curious, spiritual-but-not-religious, creative, professional, and LGBTQ clients – as well as clients who value a multi-cultural perspective.
Whether you think you are the weirdest person you know, or the most ordinary, I am motivated to work with you.
